On February 12, 2026, artificial intelligence firm Anthropic is on the verge of finalizing a funding round exceeding $20 billion. This financing is being jointly led by Founders Fund, established by Peter Thiel; hedge fund behemoth D.E. Shaw & Co.; growth equity firm Dragoneer Investment Group; along with Iconiq Capital and MGX from Abu Dhabi. In addition, strategic allies and prominent investors such as Microsoft, NVIDIA, Coatue Management, and Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC are also joining the round. The transaction places Anthropic's valuation at around $350 billion, nearly doubling its prior valuation of $183 billion. This significant funding infusion will not only strengthen Anthropic's standing as a leading rival to OpenAI but also signifies the AI industry's transition into a new era characterized by substantial capital investment.
