According to the consolidated financial results for the period from April to December 2025, which were released by SoftBank Group on the 12th, the company's net profit skyrocketed to five times the level recorded during the same period last year, reaching a staggering JPY 3.1726 trillion and marking an all-time high for this timeframe. This remarkable growth was largely fueled by SoftBank's strategic investment in OpenAI, a U.S.-based entity. The appreciation in OpenAI's valuation resulted in investment gains of JPY 2.7965 trillion for SoftBank.
