On February 11 (local time), Meta unveiled plans to commence the building of a cutting-edge data center in Lebanon, Indiana, USA, marking an investment that surpasses $10 billion. This state-of-the-art facility is projected to commence operations between late 2027 and early 2028. Boasting a capacity that exceeds 1 gigawatt and sprawling across a vast 4 million square feet, this data center stands as one of Meta's most ambitious infrastructure endeavors to date. Once fully operational, it will not only offer 300 permanent operational roles but also generate around 4,000 construction jobs during its peak construction phase. Additionally, Meta is set to allocate an extra $120 million towards enhancing local infrastructure, further solidifying its commitment to the region.
