Airbnb's CEO, Brian Chesky, disclosed that the company has plans to incorporate ChatGPT's AI functionalities into its travel platform. However, at present, the software development kit of ChatGPT remains imperfect, rendering the software unfit for immediate integration. Despite this, Airbnb remains "highly likely" to move forward with the integration in due course.

On Tuesday, Airbnb unveiled new social features along with a personalized chatbot, which enables North American users to cancel or amend their bookings. Chesky mentioned that OpenAI's chatbot has not yet reached the integration benchmarks set by Airbnb. Currently, the company leans heavily on Alibaba's Tongyi Qianwen model for its AI needs.

Chesky also highlighted that the AI revolution is still in its infancy, forecasting a significant uptick in consumer applications in the years ahead. He underscored the importance for companies to bolster their collaborative efforts in this rapidly evolving landscape.
