Elon Musk's xAI has struck a deal with the U.S. government procurement division, offering its AI chatbot, Grok, to the federal government for under a dollar. This move places xAI in direct competition with OpenAI and Anthropic. Under the terms of the agreement, federal agencies will only need to pay a mere 42 cents to access Grok for a period of one and a half years. In contrast, OpenAI and Anthropic charge the federal government $1 annually for their enterprise-level ChatGPT and Claude services, respectively.
