Recently, a number of tech firms have voiced their discontent with the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA). This act places stringent limitations on software services and the operations of platforms. Just recently, the EU slapped Apple with a hefty €500 million fine for not fully opening the door to third-party app stores. Meanwhile, Meta faced a €200 million penalty for not offering an ad-free version of Facebook that is devoid of targeted advertising. In light of these new regulations, Apple released a statement, taking aim at the adverse effects brought about by the DMA.
