The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has denied Tesla's application to register "Robotaxi" as a vehicle trademark, citing the term's overly generic nature. Concurrently, Tesla's separate application to register "Robotaxi" as a taxi service trademark remains under consideration. Tesla has been granted a three-month window to provide a response; failure to do so will result in the suspension of the application.
