On April 15, XPeng Motors hosted a Global Passion Night event in Hong Kong, showcasing its inaugural global flagship model, the X9, scheduled for release in 2025. During his address, He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPeng Motors, emphasized that the research and development of AI robots present a more formidable challenge than that of AI vehicles, and that an investment of RMB 50 billion in R&D represents merely the threshold for entry into this domain. He highlighted the prevalent issue of "pseudo-intelligence" in the industry, where robots are essentially remotely controlled, while XPeng has already commenced AI robot training and deployment in its Guangzhou factory, aiming to commence industrial mass production by 2026.
