In March 2025, retail sales of passenger cars in China surged to 1.889 million units, marking a 12% increase year-on-year and a 36% rise month-on-month. Cumulatively, retail sales reached 5.064 million units, up 5% compared to the same period last year. Notably, the new energy vehicle market demonstrated robust growth, with retail sales amounting to 988,000 units, an impressive 39% year-on-year jump and a 44% increase from the previous month. On the wholesale side, manufacturers reported total sales of 2.41 million units, reflecting a 10% annual increase and a 37% monthly surge. Among these, wholesale sales of new energy vehicles stood at 1.13 million units, up 40% year-on-year and 36% compared to February.
