Herbert Diess, the Chief Executive Officer of the Volkswagen Group, has announced that Lamborghini intends to unveil its inaugural electric vehicle by 2030, promising a staggering power output of up to 2,000 horsepower. Drawing inspiration from the design of the Lanzador 2+2 GT concept car, this groundbreaking model will leverage a cutting-edge platform developed by Porsche, engineered to support a maximum power of 2,000 horsepower and operate at 980 volts. Lamborghini's CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, disclosed that the new vehicle will boast a minimum power output of 1 megawatt and underscored the brand's commitment to prioritizing the driving experience and emotional engagement. He anticipates that this new model will not only maintain but potentially enhance sales, despite the slower-than-anticipated adoption of electric vehicles. Consequently, Lamborghini will continue to adopt a hybrid strategy as it navigates the transition to electric mobility.
