On October 21, during the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference, Li Bin, the founder, chairman, and CEO of NIO, disclosed that NIO's intelligent assisted driving system—which is built upon a world model architecture and employs closed-loop reinforcement learning—has been implemented in over 950,000 intelligent electric vehicles. This system has logged a safe driving distance surpassing 9.14 billion kilometers, with a cumulative usage time of 112 million hours, effectively preventing or mitigating the impact of 9.07 million potential accidents for users. Internal data reveals that the average safety mileage when both the driver and the system are actively engaged is eightfold that of manual driving alone. Additionally, data from four insurance companies corroborates that safety-related accident losses for vehicles equipped with this system have diminished annually, with a reduction exceeding 30%.
