General Motors CEO Mary Barra said on Monday that the company plans to introduce 'hands-free, eyes-free' driving technology by 2028. Last October, GM announced that its next-generation driving assistance system would debut on the Cadillac Escalade IQ electric model in 2028 before expanding to other models. Unlike the existing Super Cruise system, which allows drivers to release their hands from the steering wheel but still requires them to stay attentive, the new technology permits drivers to take their eyes off the road under specific conditions.
