Audi has embarked on legal measures targeting importers engaged in the parallel importation of its exclusive electric vehicle models for the Chinese market—the AUDI E5 Sportback and E7X—into Germany. These vehicles, developed in partnership with SAIC, are tailored specifically to meet the demands and preferences of the Chinese consumer base and have not received official approval for international export. Consequently, they are not acknowledged as Audi models outside China, and neither Audi nor its certified dealers offer maintenance services for these vehicles abroad. Furthermore, their introduction into the German market poses a potential threat to compete with Audi's established electric vehicle range. Presently, certain German importer websites have taken down listings for these models; however, it remains unclear whether this move is directly related to Audi's legal actions, as no official statement has been issued in this regard.
