On July 26, as per reports from U.S. media outlets, Ford Motor Company declared a recall involving 565,691 units of the 2021-2026 Ford "Bronco" and "Bronco Raptor" models. This recall was prompted by a flaw discovered in the engine compartment wiring harness of roughly 1% of these vehicles. This defect has the potential to induce short circuits, thereby elevating the risk of fire. To date, no accidents or casualties related to this issue have been reported.
Ford has acknowledged receipt of 15 reports detailing engine compartment fires, which are suspected to stem from this particular problem. In response, the company intends to implement protective measures for the recalled vehicles free of charge. Vehicle owners will be duly notified and can avail themselves of complimentary inspections and repairs at authorized Ford dealerships.
