On July 26, ZEEKR released a statement detailing its adjustments to vehicle system prompts and subsequent optimizations for overseas self-drive travel, specifically refining the safety protection strategy for vehicles venturing abroad. In the early hours of the same day, ZEEKR introduced the 'Cross-Border Protection' feature on the ZEEKR App. This new feature enables vehicle owners to swiftly obtain a verification code and unlock the system with a single click, streamlining the process and enhancing efficiency.
Furthermore, ZEEKR is in the process of developing a 'Cross-Border Protection Function Switch', which will be distributed to users through Over-The-Air (OTA) updates in the future. Once this switch is implemented, the 'Cross-Border Protection' will be disabled by default. Vehicle owners will then have the flexibility to manually toggle this feature on or off via their mobile phones before embarking on international trips, according to their personal preferences and requirements.
ZEEKR underscored that if vehicle owners choose to activate this function, the vehicle system will display prompts and certain functionalities will be restricted once the vehicle crosses international borders. Nevertheless, vehicle owners retain the ability to autonomously unlock the system through the App, striking a balance between 'anti-theft protection' and 'seamless travel'.
