The General Offices (or Comprehensive Departments) of five key ministries, notably the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Commerce, are set to roll out the 2026 Rural New Energy Vehicle Promotion Initiative. This move is aimed at furthering the reach of car trade-in policies tailored for rural areas. The initiative will feature designated trade-in areas designed to spotlight subsidy programs and offer comprehensive, one-stop services. These services encompass vehicle inspections, evaluations, recycling of used cars, and guidance on subsidy applications. Through these measures, the departments seek to boost policy awareness and accessibility, simplifying the process for rural consumers to claim subsidies. Under this scheme, rural residents trading in their old vehicles for new energy models can apply for subsidies as per the guidelines, with no cap on the number of applications.
