Landian Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Seres Group, has undergone a name change to Saidou Technology. This renamed entity will act as the legal representative for Seres' upcoming new car brand. The brand, which emphasizes a youthful and sporty aesthetic, is slated for an official debut in June. Seres has forged a deep partnership with Volcano Engine, a division of ByteDance. The new brand will boast exclusive sales avenues, promoting its products on both domestic and international markets. At present, Seres has put together a dedicated market and channel team.
The collaboration between Seres and Volcano Engine has been in the works for an extended period, known internally at ByteDance as 'Project A.' Yang Liwei, the General Manager of Volcano Engine's automotive sector, is at the helm of this project. Meanwhile, Seres' side is overseen by its Overseas BU Global Business Department, initially under the leadership of Li Bo, President of the Overseas Business Division. Although the specifics of their cooperation are still being ironed out, Volcano Engine's involvement this time around goes beyond its prior 'joint definition, joint development' model with SAIC Roewe.
