Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. has officially declared that, commencing on May 25, 2026, it will initiate a recall campaign encompassing specific 2025-2026 model year N7 vehicles, produced between March 28, 2025, and March 11, 2026, with a total of 49,465 units affected. Additionally, the recall will include certain 2025-2026 model year N6 vehicles, manufactured from October 21, 2025, to March 18, 2026, amounting to 18,800 units. The root cause of this recall lies in a design defect within the vehicle's accelerator pedal assembly. Prolonged usage of the affected pedals results in wear and tear on the internal friction block, subsequently leading to suboptimal pedal return functionality and, consequently, posing a significant safety risk. To rectify this issue, Dongfeng Motor will provide a complimentary replacement of the enhanced accelerator pedal assembly for all recalled vehicles. Furthermore, for N6 models, the company will also replace the compatible brake pedal concurrently to ensure complete elimination of the hazard.
