On May 21, Tesla made an announcement regarding the recall of a specific batch of Model Y vehicles from the 2025 to 2026 model years, with a total of 14,575 units affected. The vehicles involved in this recall encompass those from the 2025 model year, manufactured between November 17, 2024, and February 24, 2025, as well as those from the 2026 model year, produced from February 25, 2025, to April 21, 2026. The root cause of this recall lies in the fact that these vehicles are missing certification labels, which means they do not meet the stipulations outlined in 49 C.F.R. Part 567 of the U.S. Federal Regulations. In the automotive context, certification labels play a crucial role as they provide essential information about a vehicle's specifications and compliance standards. Without these labels, there is a potential risk of vehicle overloading. Overloading a vehicle can significantly impact its handling, braking performance, and overall stability, subsequently increasing the likelihood of collisions. To address this issue, Tesla has committed to inspecting the recalled vehicles and installing the necessary certification labels free of charge.
