On May 20th, reports emerged that Tesla China has recently posted a number of job openings related to intelligent driving testing. These include positions for intelligent driving test technicians, engineers, and on-site test specialists, with work locations spanning nine cities—Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Wuhan, and others. This move has sparked industry speculation that Tesla’s FSD (Full Self-Driving) system is on the verge of launching in the Chinese market. When a reporter, posing as a consumer, inquired with Tesla’s official customer service about whether the intelligent assisted driving function—purchased for RMB 64,000—could be activated via OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, the customer service representative responded that the function is not currently available in vehicles. Tesla is actively seeking approval in compliance with national regulatory requirements and will promptly make it available to domestic users once approval is granted.
