As reported by the Hunan Highway Traffic Police, at approximately 10:00 AM on April 17, a new energy vehicle, driven by Mr. Zou, ground to a halt at the 815-kilometer mark of the Xuguang Expressway (northbound to southbound) due to a depleted battery. Neglecting to take any safety measures, Mr. Zou parked the vehicle directly in the emergency lane and attempted to charge it using the power from a roadside surveillance distribution box. After spotting the situation through video surveillance, police officers promptly arrived at the scene to intervene. It was revealed that Mr. Zou was en route from Changsha to Hengyang and had failed to recharge his vehicle at the previous service area, causing it to stop. The surveillance equipment's power supply operates on a dedicated low-voltage line. Forcibly connecting to it can easily result in circuit overload, short circuits, and fires. Moreover, in rainy weather, such actions can readily trigger electric leakage and shock incidents. Ultimately, Mr. Zou was fined 200 yuan and had 3 points deducted from his driver's license for breaching the 'Road Traffic Safety Law'.
