On April 15, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced that, in line with the compulsory national standard formulation and revision plan outlined by the Standardization Administration of China, it has finalized the drafts of two compulsory national standards for approval. These drafts specifically pertain to the Safety Requirements for Combined Driving Assistance Systems of Intelligent Connected Vehicles, and the MIIT is now seeking public input. The public consultation period will run from April 16 to April 22, 2026. The proposed standard is designed to set a fundamental safety benchmark for the combined driving assistance systems in intelligent connected vehicles, ensuring these systems operate only under predefined conditions. It establishes detailed safety technical requirements for various functions, including single-lane, multi-lane, and pilot assistance, encompassing critical areas such as human-machine interaction, functional safety, information security, and data recording.
