Xiaomi's Legal Department has announced that the court has reached a first-instance verdict in its legal action against the self-media platform 'AutoReport Automotive Industry' for infringing on Xiaomi's reputation. The court found that the content disseminated by the self-media outlet lacked proper verification, included misattributions, and was overtly defamatory, thereby violating Xiaomi's reputation rights. Consequently, the court mandated the removal of the infringing content, required a public apology, and awarded Xiaomi 5 million yuan in compensation—a sum that ranks among the highest in similar cases. Previously, Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, had mentioned that Xiaomi's Legal Department had amassed evidence from numerous accounts and initiated multiple lawsuits to counteract malicious conduct. Additionally, Zunjie Auto also disclosed the first-instance ruling in a case where Jianghuai sued the self-media account 'Racing Star Ice Music' for defaming the Zunjie S800, which resulted in a public apology and a compensation payment of 300,000 yuan.
