As the electric vehicle (EV) market increasingly leans towards larger and more premium models, Volkswagen has chosen a distinct path by introducing its smallest electric hatchback yet—the ID.Polo. Today, the latest winter testing images of the vehicle have surfaced, revealing it in an uncamouflaged state with most of its exterior details finalized, indicating that it has reached the "near-production" phase.

Built on the advanced MEB+ platform, the new car boasts a 2,600mm wheelbase, providing significantly more interior space compared to its fuel-powered Polo counterpart. The ID.Polo will be offered in three power variants: 114hp, 133hp, and 208hp. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 7 seconds and offers a range of up to 450km for the 52kWh battery version. A high-performance GTI variant, boasting 223hp, will be introduced at a later stage. With a starting price of €25,000, the ID.Polo is expected to hit the market by the end of 2026.
