On February 6, 2026, Kong Dejun, Director of the Department of Service Trade and Commercial Services at the Ministry of Commerce, announced at a routine policy briefing held by the State Council that the Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with other relevant departments, will embark on a three-pronged approach to foster the expansion and elevate the quality of consumption within the automotive aftermarket services sector.
Firstly, the ministry will initiate pilot projects aimed at driving reforms in automotive circulation and consumption, thereby paving the way for novel avenues of high-quality development.
Secondly, it will implement targeted policies to enhance the standardization framework for automotive modifications, devise policies for car rental services, and refine top-tier designs in areas such as RV camping and motorsport events, all in an effort to cater to the diverse needs of consumers.
Thirdly, the ministry is committed to dismantling barriers by eradicating restrictive measures within the consumption sphere, streamlining the consumption process, and unlocking the latent potential of consumer spending.
