Sunwoda Electric Vehicle Battery Co., Ltd. released a statement confirming that it has successfully settled a dispute with Voltronic Power Technology (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, which had escalated into litigation over contract performance. The controversy began when, on December 25, 2025, Sunwoda received legal documents from Voltronic Power. The latter alleged that battery cells supplied by Sunwoda between June 2021 and December 2023 suffered from quality defects, causing significant financial losses, and thus demanded compensation amounting to 2.3 billion yuan. Voltronic Power, established in 2013, operates as a new energy technology firm under the umbrella of Geely Holding Group. The resolution of this dispute has been reached with due consideration for consumer welfare and the broader development of the industry.
