On January 8, the General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government unveiled the "Guangzhou Blueprint for Accelerating the Transformation into a Powerhouse in Advanced Manufacturing (2024-2035)." This strategic plan emphasizes the necessity to expedite the development of a pivotal industrial chain for key components along the entire value chain of new energy vehicle (NEV) research, development, manufacturing, and services. This includes power batteries, drive motors, electronic control systems, and fuel cell stack systems, aiming to establish a competitive edge in domains such as the "three electric systems" (battery, motor, and electronic control), sensors, and specialized chips.
Concurrently, the plan advocates for the establishment of an innovation platform that seamlessly integrates new energy vehicles with smart energy solutions and intelligent transportation systems. It also underscores the importance of accelerating the construction of the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Innovation Center. By doing so, Guangzhou aims to pioneer multi-scenario applications of autonomous driving technology, characterized by efficient coordination among vehicles, roads, networks, clouds, and maps. This will foster technological breakthroughs and facilitate the industrialization of intelligent connected new energy vehicles.
Furthermore, the plan calls for the rapid development of intelligent connected vehicle industrial parks, continuous promotion of research, development, and industrialization of intelligent electric vehicles, as well as enhanced testing and demonstration efforts. Through these initiatives, Guangzhou is poised to solidify its position as a leading city in advanced manufacturing, driving innovation and growth in the new energy vehicle sector.
