Tesla has announced its intention to begin battery production in 2027 at its Berlin-area facility, which stands as its sole electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Europe. Once fully operational, this new battery production line is projected to achieve an annual capacity of up to 8 GWh, sufficient to support the assembly of 130,000 electric vehicles annually. This strategic development is poised to overhaul the current production model, wherein battery components are produced in Germany but the final assembled batteries are sourced from the United States.
