On December 17th, during the 2025 China Automotive Software Conference, industry experts highlighted that automotive software is rapidly evolving towards low-level autonomy, full-stack architecture, and intelligent applications. Qiu Wei, the Chief Engineer at the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, outlined three crucial directions for progress. Firstly, there's a need to bolster technological breakthroughs at the fundamental level to establish a robust foundation for the development of intelligent vehicles. Secondly, it's essential to deepen the integration of next-generation information technologies, like AI, to harness the combined power of intelligence and achieve multiplicative effects. Lastly, promoting the establishment of an open-source ecosystem is vital to nurture a collaborative and mutually beneficial industrial community.
