During his visit to companies in Shanghai and subsequent interviews, Apple's Executive Chairman Tim Cook confirmed that Apple's inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, will open for pre-orders on October 16. This particular model is exclusively manufactured at Foxconn's plant in China. Given the intricate production process, the factory is currently operating at full capacity to prepare sufficient stock.
Earlier, Apple's Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan made a trip to the Foxconn Science and Technology Park in Zhengzhou to inspect the production lines. He mentioned that production is ramping up in strict adherence to Apple's stringent quality standards.
The iPhone Duo will come in four different storage options, with a starting price tag of nearly 16,000 yuan. Pre-orders will kick off at 8 PM on October 16, and official deliveries will commence on October 23. On the eve of the pre-order period, the number of reservations on JD.com's self-operated platform alone has surpassed 2 million, signaling strong market anticipation.
