According to CNBC, Apple’s inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, has encountered a rather tepid reception among Chinese consumers. Compared to domestic rivals, these consumers are more preoccupied with its price tag and overall value for money. Following Apple’s official announcement, a number of WeChat users expressed their intention to hold off on purchasing the device this year, opting instead to wait for the second-generation model set to debut next year. In China, the iPhone Duo is priced starting at 15,999 yuan and comes in four storage configurations: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB, retailing for 15,999 yuan, 17,999 yuan, 21,499 yuan, and 26,499 yuan, respectively. Pre-orders for the device will commence at 8 PM on October 16, with an official release slated for October 23.
