Recently, Dubai VDX, the world's first purpose-built commercial vertical take-off and landing airport, officially received regulatory certification to operate electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Located adjacent to Dubai International Airport, the airport spans approximately 3,100 square meters and features two take-off and landing zones, rapid charging facilities, and passenger service amenities, with an expected annual capacity of 170,000 passengers. This certification marks a crucial step forward in the development of Dubai's air taxi network, which will connect key urban areas and alleviate ground traffic congestion in the future.
