On August 18, local time, Apple unveiled modifications to its App Store fee framework within the EU region. The changes include the removal of per-install fees and the implementation of a 5% commission on apps distributed outside of its platform. Additionally, Apple will reduce the commission rate for in-app purchases. These new regulations are set to come into effect on October 1. Merely a few hours subsequent to this announcement, its rival, Epic Games, expressed strong disapproval, contending that Apple's alterations fall significantly short of what is necessary.
