On June 22, sources within the industry revealed that Apple has granted official approval to Samsung Display for the mass production of foldable OLED modules. Samsung Display has already commenced operations on several backend production lines at its Vietnam facility, with plans to deliver an initial batch of approximately 3 million panels by the end of this year. The two tech giants have entered into a three-year exclusive supply agreement, wherein Samsung Display will serve as the sole provider of OLED panels for Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone. Apple has set a stringent requirement for a mass production yield rate of at least 70%, and Samsung Display has successfully met this criterion, with an actual measured yield rate surpassing 80%, thereby securing the certification.
