On June 12, at the Huawei Developer Conference 2026, Yu Chengdong made the official announcement regarding the launch of the developer Beta version of HarmonyOS 7. This event signifies a significant leap forward as Harmony Intelligence undergoes a comprehensive evolution, transitioning to the Agent architecture. The new version boasts three major enhancements: a system architecture that is optimized for Agent integration, the Harmony Intelligence Framework 2.0, and Xiaoyi, the system's intelligent assistant. In tandem with these advancements, Huawei has also rolled out the 'Hongtu Plan,' a strategic initiative designed to expedite the extensive development of the open-source Harmony ecosystem. This plan encompasses over 20 industries, 200 chip types, and 1,200 device categories. Furthermore, Yu Chengdong disclosed that the number of terminal devices running HarmonyOS 6 has exceeded 66 million, a remarkable feat accomplished in just over a year and two months.
