Recently, a renowned PC repair store in Japan, PC1's, posted about a hardware mishap on social media. In this case, a high-performance graphics card, which was installed without a bracket, ended up damaging the motherboard's PCIe slot. The computer in question was fitted with a GIGABYTE RTX 4090 GAMING graphics card. This particular card is notably thick, occupying 3.8 slots, and is quite heavy, weighing in at 2kg. Due to the absence of a graphics card support accessory during the assembly process, the PCIe slot on the motherboard was subjected to a weight that far exceeded its designed capacity for a prolonged duration. This excessive strain ultimately led to the breakage of the rear portion of the PCIe slot.
