The latest report from market research firm TrendForce indicates that in the first quarter of 2026, global smartphone shipments declined by 1.7% year-on-year, yet Apple's iPhone production surged by 19.7% against the trend. It is estimated that Apple produced approximately 60.2 million iPhones in the quarter, ranking second globally, just behind Samsung, which produced around 62.6 million units with a 2.3% year-on-year increase. The report attributes Apple's outstanding performance partly to the launch of the iPhone 17e and the ongoing ramp-up of mass production for the entire iPhone 17 series.
