Several sources have verified that Lin Xi, a key figure in ByteDance’s AI hardware division, Ocean, and the leader of Doubao’s mobile phone hardware products, has resigned from his position. He marks the first major departure among core hardware leaders since ByteDance initiated its AI mobile phone initiative in 2024. Prior to joining ByteDance, Lin Xi had an extensive tenure at Huawei’s Consumer Business Group, where he served as the head of hardware products for the Pura X wide-folding mobile phone. In 2026, he transitioned to ByteDance’s Ocean team, reporting directly to Liu Chengcheng.
