Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, recently responded to external doubts about the launch of a standalone Siri app in iOS 27. He explained that Apple's move aims to provide users with a convenient entry point to view and manage their historical conversation records with Siri. Although Apple has previously stated that chatbots are not part of its development strategy, the standalone Siri app is not an isolated chat tool but rather an interactive tool deeply integrated into daily usage scenarios. Users can directly obtain Siri's assistance in scenarios such as editing documents without leaving the current app. The standalone app reintegrates the system's native core interaction capabilities, allowing users to launch it anytime from the home screen, browse past conversation records, or continue unfinished dialogues. Additionally, iOS 27 introduces a new workday (compensatory leave) alarm for the Clock app, supporting year-round holiday and compensatory workday settings; the Camera app integrates Siri for object recognition and saving; the Photos app introduces 'Spatial Composition' technology, allowing users to compose photos after taking them; iCloud functionality extends to Android and Windows devices; child accounts are enabled by default for users under 13, with enhanced screen time management and communication safety features.
