Recent leaks suggest that Apple is preparing to unveil a foldable smartphone, tentatively named the iPhone Fold, which boasts a completely revamped design philosophy. Notably, the creases on the inner display are drastically minimized, and the screen’s aspect ratio is expanded, providing a visual aesthetic that stands apart from current foldable devices on the market. The iPhone Fold incorporates a dual-layer UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass)/UFG (Ultra-Flexible Glass) construction, tackling crease-related concerns through fundamental structural enhancements, while simultaneously boosting the screen’s resilience, shock absorption, and flexibility. The inner display spans roughly 7.76 inches with an aspect ratio nearing 4:3, offering a viewing area comparable to that of the iPad mini, whereas the outer screen measures approximately 5.49 inches, striking an optimal balance between portability and ease of use. Furthermore, the iPhone Fold is powered by the A20 series chipset, ensuring robust performance, supports eSIM technology, and does away with the traditional physical SIM card slot. Its official launch is anticipated within the current year.
