Brian Lynch, senior director of Apple's smart home hardware engineering team, is set to leave the company and join smart ring maker Oura as senior vice president of hardware engineering. In recent years, Oura has poached several employees from Apple. Lynch's departure brings new turbulence to Apple's smart home product team, which is preparing to launch all-new home devices. According to sources, Apple's smart home hub currently under development is expected to debut in September 2026 due to delays in Siri development, while devices such as home security and automation sensors are planned for release in 2027. Additionally, Apple is planning new products like smart glasses. Lynch has been with Apple for over 20 years and previously participated in the company's now-terminated automotive R&D project.
