On December 26, 2025, an anonymous tipster on the professional networking platform Maimai alleged that Anker Innovations was in the midst of large-scale layoffs, with a staggering reduction ratio nearing 30%. According to the tip, some employees had already finalized their resignation procedures. This news swiftly ignited fervent discussions within the cross-border e-commerce community.
On the evening of December 29, relevant personnel from Anker Innovations categorically refuted the rumors of large-scale layoffs, asserting that the news was entirely false. Anker Innovations, a frontrunner among domestic consumer electronics companies venturing into the global market, was established in 2011. It currently operates across three core business segments: charging and energy storage solutions, smart innovation products, and smart audio-visual devices.
Earlier in June of the same year, Anker Innovations found itself embroiled in a power bank recall controversy. The issue stemmed from problems with its battery cell supplier, leading to a cumulative recall of 565,000 units. The company completed refunds totaling 85.664 million yuan to affected customers. Despite these challenges, Anker Innovations continued to demonstrate resilience, with both revenue and net profit experiencing sustained growth. In the first three quarters of the year, the company's revenue soared to 21.019 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 27.79%. Meanwhile, net profit attributable to shareholders climbed to 1.933 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 31.34%.
