On December 30, 2025, reporters received information from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, revealing that the domestically-developed "Xiangyun" AS700 manned airship has successfully secured the nation's inaugural production license (PC certificate), as issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. This significant milestone signifies the official commencement of mass production for China's first manned airship, which has been independently developed in strict compliance with airworthiness standards. It paves the way for the large-scale delivery and subsequent commercial operation of domestically-produced manned airships. It's worth noting that prior to this achievement, the AS700 manned airship had already earned its type certificate (TC certificate) in December 2023.
