On December 28, 2025, the Lanying R6000, the first 6-ton-class tiltrotor aircraft in the world, which was independently developed by the United Aircraft Group, soared into the skies for its maiden flight in Sichuan. This milestone event marked a significant breakthrough in China's crucial tiltrotor technologies.
This remarkable aircraft seamlessly blends the vertical takeoff and landing capabilities of helicopters with the high-speed cruise abilities of fixed-wing aircraft. It boasts a cruise speed of 550 kilometers per hour, a maximum commercial payload capacity of 2 tons, an impressive maximum range of 4,000 kilometers, and can reach a service ceiling of 7,620 meters.
Equipped with an intelligent tilting and flight control system, high-performance turboshaft engines, and advanced composite material rotor blades, the Lanying R6000 offers highly intelligent multi-modal switching and fault-adaptive capabilities. Moreover, it incorporates cutting-edge wing-folding and rotor blade-folding technologies, significantly enhancing its spatial adaptability and deployment flexibility.
The Lanying R6000 has a wide range of potential applications. It can be utilized in three-dimensional transportation networks, emergency rescue missions, air logistics operations, special operations, commuting to offshore platforms, aerial surveying and mapping tasks, as well as high-end private travel services.
