Recently, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Z TriFold triple-folding phone, with official statements asserting that the hinge has successfully endured a 200,000-fold folding test. This test simulates a real-world usage scenario of folding the phone 100 times per day for five consecutive years. However, a rigorous test conducted by the South Korean YouTube channel OMG_electronics has cast doubt on these claims. The test revealed that after roughly 61,000 folds, abnormal noises began emanating from the hinge. Another hinge also started making unusual sounds at the 121,000-fold mark. By the time the phone reached 144,000 folds, the hinge's elasticity had failed, though the screen continued to function normally.
