Recently, a well-known internet influencer shared a captivating video showcasing the entire process of receiving takeout via drone while sailing on the Yangtze River. In the footage, a sizable drone demonstrates remarkable precision by locating the moving vessel amidst the river's expanse. It hovers steadily above the deck, then lowers the ordered items down via a rope with flawless accuracy. After the delivery, the drone automatically retracts the rope—all accomplished without any human intervention.

It's reported that since August of this year, the Nanjing section of the Yangtze River has been at the forefront of introducing drone takeout services. This innovative approach has since been extended to regions like Jingzhou. Crew members aboard moving vessels can now conveniently place orders via their mobile phones. In response, drones swiftly and accurately deliver not just food but also daily necessities and even essential medications straight to the decks of these vessels. Each drone is capable of carrying items weighing between 40-80kg. While some areas offer these services free of charge to crew members, others impose a nominal delivery fee. Data reveals that since its inception, the Nanjing section has witnessed an average of 150 drone deliveries per day, with a staggering 227 tons of supplies already delivered to over 9,000 vessels.
