Data from Omdia reveals that in the third quarter of 2025, China’s PC market witnessed a 2% year-on-year (YoY) increase in shipments, totaling 11.3 million units. Specifically, desktop PC shipments climbed by 8% YoY to 3.3 million units, primarily buoyed by robust demand in the commercial sector. Meanwhile, notebook shipments remained relatively stable compared to the previous year at 8 million units, as the impact of consumer subsidies diminished during this quarter. In the tablet segment, shipments rose by 9% YoY, reaching 8.8 million units.
Looking ahead, it is anticipated that by the end of 2025, China’s PC market will experience a 5% YoY growth in shipments, hitting 41.5 million units. This positive outlook is attributed to strong consumer demand in the first half of the year, a surge in commercial procurement activities, and initiatives within the domestic innovation landscape. As for the tablet market, a 12% YoY growth is projected, with shipments expected to reach 35 million units, largely influenced by the product rollouts and pricing strategies adopted by domestic manufacturers.
