On October 11, 2025, China Unicom formally initiated the reservation process for its eSIM service. Users have the option to make reservations in two convenient ways. Firstly, they can scan a QR code using the official WeChat public account. Alternatively, they can navigate to the eSIM reservation section on the homepage of the official China Unicom client and input their personal details. Once the reservation is completed, users have the flexibility to activate the eSIM service either at authorized offline China Unicom stores or through the official client. However, it's important to note that third-party stores do not currently offer this activation service. As of the time of this report, the number of reservations has surpassed 45,000. In a related development, China Mobile had already introduced its eSIM reservation feature on September 21. Meanwhile, China Telecom has also announced that its eSIM service is fully prepared and ready for launch.
