On July 22, local time, U.S. President Trump made an announcement on the social media platform Truth Social, revealing that he and the visiting Philippine President Marcos had reached a trade agreement at the White House. The agreement stipulates a 19% tariff on imports from the Philippines into the United States, while the Philippines, in turn, will open its market to the U.S. and apply zero tariffs. To date, no official response has been issued by the Philippine government.
