According to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), China's cumulative telecom business revenue for the first half of the year amounted to 905.5 billion yuan, marking a 1% increase year-on-year. Additionally, the total volume of telecom business surged by 9.3% compared to the same period last year. By the close of June, the total number of mobile phone subscribers across the four major basic telecom enterprises climbed to 1.81 billion, with a net addition of 19.93 million users. Notably, 5G subscribers surged to 1.118 billion, experiencing a net gain of 104 million users and accounting for 61.8% of the total. Furthermore, the total count of 5G base stations reached 4.549 million, witnessing a net increase of 298,000 stations, which now represent 35.7% of all mobile base stations – an increase of 1.3 percentage points from the first quarter.
